Just give it all you got…

There’s this unique joy in giving. It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. 2016 is going to be the year of giving. A handwritten note, a little doodle, a personalized present could make someone’s day! I love to see that smile on peoples faces when they receive something personalized. And yes, the greatest gift is a portion of thyself. Here are few of my creations – wish to keep adding more and more to this collection!

Wrapping up 2015!

As we wrap up the year, I wanted to take a few minutes to reflect upon some key moments of 2015. I am so very grateful to have all you wonderful people in my life. Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday filled with joy. I am excited for a fresh, New Year to begin. Bring it on 2016!

Last Christmas, we celebrated in Ashland – Lots of snow, great friends, a beautiful vacation home and two, cute little toddlers. What more can one ask for?

Ashland Collage

I am so glad to have participated in The Sketchbook Project. For those of you, who haven’t viewed my sketchbook yet, here’s the link:

This makes me, oh so very DOODLEHAPPY! 🙂

As parents of a three-year old toddler, we don’t get too many nights out. We celebrated a cousin’s 40th birthday at La Honda Winery and danced the night away. This felt like such a treat in between all the chaos and usual week madness. Glad to have so much family around – makes any kind of celebration so much more fun!

Dance like there’s no tomorrow!

The thing I dread the most is receiving a phone call and hearing about a loved one’s death. It makes me feel so helpless, being so far away from family. I lost my uncle in March 2015 and every time someone passes away it is a gentle reminder to us to make sure we let the ones we love know how much we love them! Say it!

We moved into a new home in August 2014 and ended up meeting some neighbors on and off but never really got a chance to interact with too many people in the community. I always thought of hosting a potluck at our home so all the families from the community can meet and get to know each other. In March 2015, I hosted the first potluck at our home and it has been great getting to know the people who live around us. We had a few other meet ups after that and hopefully the tradition continues 🙂

And then began the Italy trip planning. Just as the process is important as much as the final product, the planning was fun as much as the trip itself. From dates, discussions, air tickets, hotel reservations to long walks, gelatos, coffees and conversations, we had a fantastic time in Italy. Go TEAM ITALY! 🙂

My infant is now a toddler, big boy VEER starts preschool! Indeed, a big milestone for all of us. New beginnings, new friends, new learnings and a whole lot of fun!

We did a quick trip to India in July for my father in law’s surgery. No feeling like the feeling of being home especially during such times. Just being with family and around family is like half the battle won. So thankful to god for Daddy’s smooth recovery. Long Live Daddy! You’re a true ROCKSTAR!

In between all the chaos, Veer got some quality time with his maternal great grand parents. Precious! Isn’t it?

There is no joy, like the joy of seeing a loved one smile :). Celebrating Veer’s Circus theme 3rd birthday was indeed a delightful experience for me. From deciding the theme to picking his outfit, it was an absolute pleasure to plan all the details!

Being a working mom, I always thinking of what next? Planning meals? Grocery? Laundry? A girls day trip to Napa sounded like the best option and I am so glad we made it work. Enjoyed every bit of this time spent away from home, chores and the usual mundane stuff.

Welcoming Neil! We took a road trip to San Diego to see a cousin who delivered a beautiful baby boy! Veer got to see his newest cousin and also got to spend time with some other cousins in San Diego. What a fun filled family time 🙂

A superrrrr-funnnn Halloween with my ever so naughty cops 😉

Nothing beats spending DIWALI with FAMILY 🙂 So grateful to have so much family around.

Wishing Mom-Dad a very healthy, happy, long life in the years to come. I feel so content they were able to visit us this year inspite of all the ups and downs. Love you two infinite.

Love you all 🙂

November was a really difficult month. Two of my close friends lost their moms in a fatal car accident and their dads have been injured as well. Such a terrible thing to happen to anyone. It makes me numb when I imagine them receiving that phone call saying their mom is no more. One of the hardest things of being so far away from family. The fear of something like this happening and losing a loved one. My heart goes out to them and their family. May they gain the strength to get through this. Let us not take anything or anyone for granted.

DP turn 8! Can’t believe it has already been 8 years since I got married and moved to California. A night out in Napa with my best friend, my hubby and my maximizer 😉 was beautiful!

Signing up for Bombay Jam makes me oh so BOLLYWOODHAPPY :). It is the best fitness solution for someone like me. BOLLYWOOD + WORKOUT + HIGH ENERGY + PEOPLE = FUN FUN FUN! So looking forward to burning off those calories and to a fitter 2016! Love you all my bombay jammers!

December always brings smiles and makes me a “happy” birthday girl. Every day in December is a reason to celebrate, a reason to remember someone close to my heart, a reason to pick up the phone and make that special phone call 🙂 I had a fabulous birthday celebration with awesome friends and my boys. We watched our first movie together as a family of three in a movie theatre and it was a successful experiment. Common, now that’s a big deal! 😀

Wishing Mom-Dad a very Happy 39th Anniversary and wishing Didi-Jiju a very happy 15th Anniversary and many many more years of happiness and togetherness. Miss this bunch the most! My pillars of strength – love you guys 🙂

Gearing up for a snow-filled Christmas in Lake Tahoe! Merry Christmas y’all!

Thank you 2015, you have been great, you showered a lot of love and taught me some very important lessons. Welcome 2016, I embrace you with open arms! 🙂

Beautiful Burano!

Vibrant streets, bright, colorful homes, cute little cafes, lace shops and beautiful scarves pretty much sums up what Burano is made up of. Burano definitely lives upto its tag of being one of the most colorful places in the world! I am so glad we took the ferry up to Burano and spent half a day there.IMG_6389IMG_6369IMG_6375

The Venice Vibe!

Have you been to Venice? It is truly one of the most unique cities I have been to so far! No cars, no bikes, no skateboards – just lots and lots of pedestrians, water taxis and gondolas to welcome you and take you around the Grand Canal.

Day 1: We took a guided tour to St. Marks Square, St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s palace followed by a gondola ride in the evening. I know it is “touristy” but you can’t miss a gondola ride when in Venice 🙂

Must eat: Pizza at Antica Forno (be ready to walk a whole lot to locate this tiny gem!)
